The “New Economy of Ivano-Frankivsk” is a large-scale, three-year project that will strengthen local economic processes to stimulate the innovative economy in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. The European Union funds the project as part of the Mayors for Economic Growth Facility.
Key areas
A project’s main idea is turning patents, technologies, developments, and ideas into highly added-value products. The task of the project is to start creating conditions in Ivano-Frankivsk where this will become possible.

Ivano-Frankivsk needs competitive innovators, scientists, and entrepreneurs to become a city of innovation after the war.

The project has three priority areas: product design, applied science, and sustainable construction practices.
During the project, an innovative infrastructure will be created on the territory of the innovation center Promprylad, namely an open workshop (Makerspace) and a scientific laboratory, as well as a partial repair of the bomb shelter (on the territory of Promprylad).
In addition to infrastructure solutions, there are educational programs, business support programs in the form of innovation vouchers (up to 60,000 hryvnias for the development of innovative projects), events, networking, training, consulting in the format of Rapid Business Assistance, and in-depth consulting for small and medium-sized businesses.
Uniqueness of the project
In 2022, as a response to the challenges of the war, the project supported the activity of the Save Business Now Crisis Coordination Center.
More than 180 local and relocated entrepreneurs received support consulting and attended events and trainings.

Five partners are working on implementing the project: the Executive Committee of the City Council, innovation center Promprylad, charitable foundation Teple Misto, METALAB urban laboratory, and the economic development agency PPV.
This is cooperation aimed at stimulating innovative processes in the city.
